snow, snow, snow

This is the story of our lives this month. We are staying in northern Ohio. We had another meeting cancelled tonight, but we know the Lord is in control. We are enjoying extra time to read and have family time.

more snow

Whenever we'd go outside, Caleb would tell me, "This is winter, Mama."

Caleb has made some good friends with the family we are staying with. They have teenage daughters that never seem to tire of hide and seek and Dr. Seuss.

our sweet Grandma Wynveen

my former flute teacher, Cynthia Stevens. Hadn't seen her since our wedding. We caught up, drank tea, and played some duets.

I'll admit, I was good until we came to the buffalo standing a just few feet from our golf cart. That's when I started to feel like Jurassic Park. Those things are huge!

The three cousins, and now there are four! Stanley just missed the picture by a few days.

Christmas morning at home

Backing up a bit, but these were too sweet not to share...

Caleb made Christmas Christmas for us this year.

my new little nephew!

persevering

We've been on the road for a couple weeks now. We left right after Christmas to go to WI to visit my family. Then we had a meeting in IL, hung around to visit my sister and her family (the proud parents of new little Stanley!) and now we are in Lucas, OH. We got snowed out of our meeting in OH on Sunday, but, Lord-willing, we will present at their mid-week service instead. We have gotten more than our fill of snow! We had some pretty slick roads on Saturday coming from Chicago to OH. After a minor accident on the interstate Sat afternoon, we got off the roads and checked into a hotel and finished the trip Sunday morning. A semi crept into our lane, and we spun out trying to avoid him. We are kicking ourselves for not leaving IL before the storm hit, but we praise God for protecting us from what could have been a very serious accident. All of us were safe, and the van is still drivable. Just needs some body work to take the imprint of the guardrail off the side. Please pray for God to keep His protection around us on the roads.

Please pray for us to stay healthy too. I had to stay home from our meeting Sun am in IL with the flu, and the kids and I have been passing colds back and forth. It's a little discouraging to be out here away from home and then missing the meetings we came out for. But this was all part of God's itinerary for our trip.  Yesterday I read Romans 5, and God reminded me that while we are on a mission to raise support to get to Germany, God is on a mission to work in us perseverance, proven character, hope, and, ultimately, the "love of God, poured out within our hearts." He is more interested in making us useful servants for Him than any agenda we may have.

Stanley Harrison Moreau

My sister had her baby this morning! He is 7 pounds, 18 3/4 inches long. Praise God for a safe delivery! Isn't Stanley a doll?!
